Charolette Helen Potts of St. James, Mo. passed away at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri on January 23, 2017.  She was 85 years, 6 months, and 12 days of age.

Charolette Helen Potts was born on July 11, 1931 to her parents Iver Chris and Hulda Katy Spurgeon Skouby  in High Gate, Mo.  She married Harry Lee Underwood Potts On April 16, 1948 in High Gate, Mo., he entered into rest December 13, 1988.

Charolette was know by her family and friends as "Grandma". She loved to crocheting, and embroidery. Her greatest love was her dear husband Harry, and after his passing she devoted herself to her family and grandkids.  She also loved to garden, and to grow flowers, and loved to watch birds, but did not have much love for the cats that scared her birds.  She enjoyed camping and fishing on the Gasconade River. Charolette was a native of High Gate and enjoyed all the High Gate reunions.  She was a very hard worker.  She sewed many quilts for her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Charolette Potts is survived by her son: Harry Iver Potts and wife Patricia of Mt. Sterling, Mo.; daughter: Cate (Cathy) Becklenberg and husband Curtis of St. James, Mo.; two sisters: Kathleen Dahl and Adelia Welch both of St. James, Mo.  and six grandchildren: Katina Doyle and husband Buddy; Feilica Schmitt and husband Mark; Iver Chris Potts; Charity Satterfield and husband Justin; Adam Becklenberg; Aaron Becklenbery and wife Tera; along with fourteen great-grandchildren.

Preceding Charolette Potts in death is her parents: Iver Chris and Hulda Katy Spurgeon Skouby; husband: Harry Lee Potts; one son: Lenny Lee Potts who passed away September 14, 1968; one daughter: April Dawn Potts on November 25, 1973; two brothers: Donald Alfred Skouby and Iver Chris Skouby; one sister: Mette Sarchette.

Visitation for Charolette Potts will be Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 4 - 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.

Funeral services will be on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 1 P.M.  at the High Gate Baptist Church in High Gate Mo. with Douglas Lane officiating.  Pallbearers will be: Adam Becklenberg,  Aaron Becklenberg, Nathaniel Schmit; Trent Satterfield, Iver Potts, Wildard Doyle, Tyler Schmit, and John Doyle. Burial will be in the High Gate Cemetery in rural St. James, Mo.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.
