Carole Ann Laster of St. James passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022 at her home in St. James, MO.  She was 83 years of age.

Carole, the daughter of the late George and Mabel Brown Waters, was born June 8, 1939 in North Platte, Nebraska.  She was united in marriage to Gerald Laster on November 19, 1977 in Boulder, Colorado.

She is survived by sons: Rory Kirchhofer, Cape Girardeau, MO; Terry Laster of Rolla, MO; Gerald Laster and wife, Amy of St. James, MO; daughters: Debbie Hardin of Meqsuite, TX; Yvonne Hardesty of Rolla, MO and Kimberly Laster of Columbia, MO; brothers: Arthur Moran of TX and James Moran of Omaha, NE; sisters: Kathleen Hawes of KS and Mary Ashby of Omaha, NE and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald Laster who passed away March 27, 2018; son, Wesley Kirchhofer and brother, Allen Moran .

Carole retired from Missouri Veteran's Home; she worked as a certified records technician. She enjoyed the farm life- watching birds, tending her flowers and plants as well as spoiling her cats. She had many indoor hobbies, also; she liked to write in her journal, sewing, crochet, knitting and puzzles.

She was very active in the Eastern Star for many years; she was the past District Deputy Grand Matron for the 49th District Grand Chapter of Missouri Order of Eastern Star. She held dual membership at the St. James Eastern Star Chapter # 235 and Perryville, MO Chapter #46. She and Jerry were very active in many area Eastern Star Chapters in the State of MO.

Visitation was held 10:00 AM Friday, July 1, 2022 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.

Eastern Star Services were held at 10:30 AM Friday July 1, 2022.

Funeral services were 11:00 AM Friday, July 1, 2022 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO with Brother Craig Rippey officiating. Burial was in the St. James Cemetery in St. James, MO.

Memorials may be made to the St. James Senior Center.
