Carl F. Roark Sr. passed away Friday April 16, 2010, at his home, with his family at his side. He was 84 years 6 months and 19 days of age.

Carl Roark Sr. was born September 28, 1925, the son of the late Charles and Minnie (Hicks) Roark.

On December 20, 1944 he was united in marriage to Avenell Groves. On December 4, 1984 Carl was united to Reta Falkenrath.

Carl Roark Sr. is survived by his wife Reta Roark of St. James, along with 5 children: Carl Roark, Jr and wife Norma of St. James; Patricia Skyles and husband Frank of Rolla; Billie Day and husband Louie of St. Clair; Pamela Branstetter and husband Richard of St. James and Anita Plemmons and husband Donald of St. James. Along with two step-daughters: Brenda Martin and husband Orville of St. James and Glenda Knueven and husband Jay of Salem; further survived by 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and two special canine friends: Blue and Princess.

Carl Roark Sr. is preceded in death by his parents,one sister Dorothy and one brother: Sherman.

Carl Roark Sr., loved his family, enjoyed the outdoors and being with his dogs and horses. He was a sign maker for many years.

Services
Carl Roark Sr. will lie in state Tuesday April 20, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.

Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday April 21, 2010 at the First Assembly of God in St. James with Mick Thrasher officiating. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery. Memorial may be given to the Future Care Inc. - the St. James House, cards are available at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
