Billie Joe Trammell of St. Jameswent to be with the Lord on Monday July 21, 2008 at the Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was 66 years 9 months and 9 days of age.
Billie Trammell was born October 21, 1941 in Elk Valley, Tennessee, to Homer and Virgie (Botts) Trammell.
On June 16, 1961, at Rolla, Mo., Bill Trammell was united in marriage to Phillis Jean (Reedy) Trammell, she survives at the family home.
Billie Trammell is survived by his loving wife Phillis Jean Trammell of St. James, daughter Tina Trammell of St. James along with one brother Rick Trammell and wife Wanda of Indianapolis, Indiana; two sisters: Shirley Harris and Debbie Thorpe and husband Stan all of Indiana.
Billie Trammell was a decorated veteran of the United States Army given the title by the United States Government as Expert Rifle and Expert Carbine. For many years he owned and operated Bill's Gun Shop in St. James having retired in 1998. Bill loved his family and was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to be outdoors. He was Vice President of the South Central Chapter of National Federation of the Blind.
Services
Visitation for Billie Trammell will be held from 12 noon Thursday July 24, 2008 at the Calvary United Pentecostal Church in St. James.
Funeral Service will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday July 24, 2008 at the Calvary United Pentecostal Church in St. James with Brother Don Lowery Officiating. Burial will full military honors will be held at the Oak Forest Cemetery near St. James.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James
