Bettye Jean Cantrell passed away at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri on Thursday, October 14, 2010. She was 82 years, 10 months, and 22 days of age.
Bettye Jean Cantrell was born on November 22, 1927 to her parents: Belvard A. and Maxine (Crydar) Arnette in Sperry, Oklahoma.
On August 23, 1943 at Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Bettye was united in marriage to Clinton Cantrell.
Bettye is survived by one son: Chuck Cantrell and wife Sherry of St. James, Missouri; three daughters: Jeanne Rackley and husband Bob of St. James, Missouri; Bonnie Ecker and husband Kenny of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Janet Thompson and husband Jack of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; one extra special friend: Arlys Krawiecki and husband Sam of St. James, Missouri; two brothers: Paul Arnette and wife Jeannetta of Duncan, Oklahoma; Orvis Arnett of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
Bettye was a homemaker and loved doing for her family. Bettye and Clinton were married 46 years. She was a devoted wife a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great grandmother. She loved life. Bettye always had a gentle smile and a big hug when she greated you. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceding Bettye in death are her parents: Belvard A. and Maxine (Crydar) Arnette; Husband: Clinton Cantrell; two brothers: Johnny ,and Belvard Arnette; two sisters: Merilee Moss and Tiny Medlock.
Services
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2010, from 6 - 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 11 AM at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Mick Thrasher officiating. Pallbearers will be: Chris Rackley, Randy Rackley, Josh Cantrell, Clinton Cantrell, Zack Cantrell, Terry Morgan; and Victor Barnhardt; four honorary pallbearers:Jeremy Buie, Jeremy Barnhardt, Robbie Bernhardt and Jake Rackley. Burial will be in the family plot in the Oak Forest Cemetery in rural St. James, Missouri.
Memorial may be made to American Cancer Society. Cards are available at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
