Allen James Bunton Jr., aged 79, passed away on December 26, 2025, in Rolla, Missouri.

Born on February 11, 1946, in St. James, Missouri, Allen was a lifelong resident of the state and a figure well-known for his industrious nature and love for old cars.

Throughout his life, Allen was a dedicated worker. His early years were spent hauling hay and cutting fire and cord wood. His passion for mechanics was evident as he spent countless hours working on tractors and transmissions. Allen's career at Dillon Clay Mining involved loading trucks and managing clay pits, showcasing his robust work ethic and skills.

Allen's joy in life extended beyond his work. He was an avid car enthusiast, especially proud of his rat rod, and enjoyed attending car shows. His friendship with Jeff Jones was a source of great pleasure and many shared adventures. Allen was known for his jolly and fun-loving personality, bringing laughter and warmth to those around him.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Allen James Bunton Sr. and Ada Mae Smallwood Bunton, step mother, Goldie Bunton, and his daughter, Jessica Donnelly. He is survived by his ex-wife, Myrtle Pankey Watson of St. James, Missouri; his sons, Jamey Bunton (Annie) of Birch Tree, Missouri, and Jason Bunton (Olivia Noble) of Licking, Missouri; nine grandchildren—Tyler Bunton (Sam), Dustin Bunton (Felina), Jasper Bunton, Airyn Schultz (Justin), Gatlin Bunton (Madison), Spencer Noble (Hayli), Reuben Peters, Destiny Ratcliff (Ethan), and Dylan Donnelly; and nine great-grandchildren.

A service to honor Allen's life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11 am at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri. Burial of his ashes will be next to his mother at the St. James Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 10 am at the Jones Funeral Home. Allen's life was marked by his resilience, joy, and the deep connections he forged with those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
