Adelene Doloris (Cannady) Ellis, "Dodie", of St. James, MO passed away on October 11, 2021.

Dodie was born on March 15, 1940, the daughter of the late Harold Edward Cannady and Virginia Delight (Chandler) Frey.

Dodie was married to the late James "Jimmy" Glenn. Dodie was married to Cecil Ellis, and to this union their daughter, Dana Rae Ellis, was born.

Dodie is survived by her daughter, Dana Haynes and husband Tim, of St. James, MO; her sisters, Helen Lee and husband Wayne, of St. Louis, MO & Karla Lindemann and husband Greg, of St. James, MO; her granddaughters, Sydney Snelson and husband Chad, of St. James, MO & Katelyn Haynes, of St. James, MO; great grandson, Kolt Snelson, of St. James, MO; along with nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and special extended family.

Dodie is preceded in death by her parents, and step-father, Carl Frey.

Dodie was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. There was nothing more important to Dodie than her family. she enjoyed shopping, cooking, and relaxing with family. Dodie touched many lives, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will take place from 11am - 2pm on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James with a short memorial service following with Mick Thrasher officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at the St. James Cemetery at a later date.
