Christopher Michael Courtois of St. James passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at his home. He was 41 years of age.

Christopher, the son of Richard Lee and Carolyn Lee Cates Courtois, was born April 28, 1981 in Sullivan, MO. He was united in marriage to Richelle Johnson in St. James, MO.

He  is survived by his wife, Richelle of St. James; mother, Carolyn Courtois of St. James; sons: Dryden Michael Courtois of St. James, Alexander Trey Phelan of St. James and Devin Nicholas Phelan and wife, Ryley Danielle of St. James; brothers: Richard Matthew Courtois of St. James and Mark Patrick Courtois of St. James; grandson, Lucas Michael James Phelan and great nephew, Grayson Patric Courtois.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Lee Courtois who passed away November 28, 2014; paternal grandparents, Bernard and Helen Bayer Courtois; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Fern Dixon Cates and sister-in-law, Kathy Courtois.

Christopher was a loving son, husband, father and papaw. With his fun- loving spirit, he had the gift of making people laugh. He graduated from John F. Hodge High School in 1999; he was active in band, football, and choir. His interests included medieval history and swords, Dungeons and Dragons, and he had a great love for the herbs. He was an avid reader. He loved animals, especially his pet snake.  He managed several stores in the St. James-Rolla area; he was currently working at Break Time.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM Monday, November 7, 2022 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.

Memorial service for Christopher will be 2:00 PM Monday, November 7, 2022 at Jones Funeral Home with Father Greg Meystrik officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Matthew Courtois, Logan Douglas Courtois, Seth Patric Courtois, Alexis Shyann Courtois, Shad Scantlin and Kodie Campbell. Burial of the ashes will be in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery following the memorial service.
