Joan Beam Obituary

Joan Beam, age 84, of St. James, Mo. passed away at Phelps Health Hospital in Rolla on Saturday, December 7, 2019. She was born on September 3, 1935 in Clear Lake, Iowa to her parents: Lawrence and Cornelia (Huntley) Trego. She married her husband Roger Leroy Beam on August 3, 1964.

She is survived by her son: Lance Hamilton and wife Denise of Fort Worth, Texas; her daughter: Leslie Jo Howdeshell and husband Clint of St. James, Mo. Her four grandchildren: Brooke, Robert, Isaiah and Hannah; and two great-grandchildren: Adalynn and Haytham; one brother: Richard Huntley and wife Pat of Luling, Texas;and one sister:Patti Poling and husband Darrel of Hampton, Iowa.

Joan Beam is preceded in death by her late husband: Spec 5 Roger Beam, KIA Vietnam.

Through out her life she enjoyed being a Sunday School Teacher, painting ceramics, sewing, crocheting afghans and needlepoint. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers and plants and baking cookies and goodies for Christmas gifts.

Graveside Service of the ashes will be next to her husband Roger and Sylvania Hills Memorial Park in Rochester, PA.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.
