Janet Marie (Norris) Colvin

Janet Marie Colvin, 74 of St James, MO passed away peacefully on December 8, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born May 15, 1944 in Rolla, to the late Clarence and Dorothy (Shuey) Norris.

Janet married Ray Lynn Colvin July 15, 1995. They enjoyed 23 years of laughter, fishing, and spending time with their grandkids.

Janet was the most moral, honest, and forgiving person there was. She loved caring for others, cooking hot meals for her family and elderly who needed it, and read her Bible daily. Her world revolved around her 15 grandkids and they all ran to her and jumped in her lap immediately when they saw her. She enjoyed crafts, cooking, and making flower arrangements to place on the graves of her loved ones.

Janet is survived by husband Ray L. Colvin, daughters Cindy Mankin and Pam Fann of St. James, Mo. Her grandchildren Kendra Wright of Austin, TX, James Mack and Brian Mankin of St. James, Mo. Daniel, Katrina and Natasha Underwood of Rolla, Mo. Kevin & Stephanie Fann and Terry Fann of St James, along with Jasper Fann, Vanessa and Ryan Hull, Bentely and Cami and Maddex Riden, and Madelyn Massman. Great grandchildren Lucas Mankin, Ryder and Mason Fann all of St James, Mo. Brother Marvin Norris and wife Mary of St James, Warren and Patty Norris of Licking, Mo. Sister’s Karen Carter and husband Bill of Licking, Mo, Linda Carlton of Rolla, Mo, Brenda McGranahan and husband Jim of Kentucky.

Preceding Janet in death are her parents Clarence and Dorothy Norris, 5 siblings June Edmonds, Debbie Loughrige, David Norris, Wayne Norris, Dale Norris, Donald Norris and Barb Underwood, son Danny Underwood and grandson Nathan Underwood.

Mrs. Colvin will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday December 11, 2018, until service time at  1:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday December 12, 2018 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James with John Jordan officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at the Asher Cemetery.
