Donald Ray Casteel

Donald Ray Casteel of Rolla, Mo. passed away on August 4, 2019 at his home in Rolla, Mo.  Donald Casteel was 77 years and 17 days of age.

Donald Casteel was born on July 18, 1942 to his parents: Vernie and Arminta Young Casteel.  He married Vicki Charlene Kamper Sarchette on July 17, 1997 in Miami, Oklahoma.

The world lost a special man. One that had the dirtiest of jokes and the biggest of hearts!  His love and dedication to his country and family could not be measured. A proud Marine, Retired Post Master with US Postal Service, retired from the Color Guard, Father and adoptive father, and who volunteered many years after retirement with the Color Guard only stopping when his body would not physical allow him to do anymore. He was one of a kind and they are not made like him anymore.

Donald Casteel is survived by his wife of the home: Vicki Charlene Kamper Casteel of Rolla, Mo. Mother of the children: Betsey Graham Casteel. Children: John Jason Casteel and wife Lori of Libererty, Mo., Jill Casteel and husband Jody of Columbia; Steven Casteel and wife Samantha of Jefferson City Mo.,David Woodrow Casteel of Fayette, Mo.,Kayla Austin and husband Scott of St. Clair, Mo., and ., two brothers: Bob Casteel and wife Carolyne of Ferguson, Mo. and Frank Casteel and wife Sue of Mehville, Mo.; and sister: Shirley Griffith of Afton, Mo.  Along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding Donald Casteel in death is one brother-in-law: Kenny Griffith.

Visitation for Donald Casteel will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.

Funeral Services for Donald Casteel will be conducted on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 3:00 PM with Doug Williams officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in the High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery in rural St. James, Mo.

Memorials may be made to any Animal Shelter.
