Welcome to the memorial page for

Bonnie Sue (Koerber) Dillon

May 10, 1938 ~ September 15, 2017 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Bonnie Sue Dillon of St. James, MO passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the St. James Living Center in St. James, MO. She was 79 years, 4 months and 6 days of age.

Bonnie Sue Dillon was born on May 10, 1938 to her parents, Louis Henry and Maudie Rhea French Koerber in Vienna, MO. She was united in marriage to Roy Arthur Dillon on January 2, 1960 in Vienna, MO, and to this union, three children were born.

Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. There were very few rules at Ma-Maw's house, but there was lots of singing and reading books. She rocked and sang “You Are My Sunshine” to her grandchildren more times than one could count.

Her wit and humor added fun to many family gatherings. She and her childhood friend, Shirley added much fun to their community, also. When it came to school, she had an independent spirit; sometimes, the rules did not apply to her, just like rules didn't apply to her grandchildren. Her brothers and sisters held a special place in her heart from an early age. She would buy her brother and sisters new clothes for each holiday and special event with her weekly earnings from the shoe factory. When needed, she also helped buy the family's groceries.

Meticulous and loyal were two words to describe her. When completing a job, the job would be done to perfection, and the job would always get done. She helped her husband keep books for their farm and excavating businesses. When the bank tellers saw her coming, they knew the bank was probably going to be in error. She loved mowing and working in her yard, and her yard was beautiful each year. She also helped care for the Broadway Memorial Cemetery for over 35 years.

She loved her dog, Sparky, and feeding her hummingbirds.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Roy of the home; two sons: Terry Dillon and wife, Edna of St. James, MO and Gregory Dillon and wife, Julie of St. James, MO; one daughter, Deanna Jones and husband, Richard of St. James, MO; two brothers: Leslie "Butch" Koerber and wife, Marlene of St. James, MO and Joe Koerber and wife, Rosemary of Troy, IL; three sisters: Viola Anderson and husband, Charles of Troy, MO, Sharon Sullivan and husband, Bill of Lee's Summit, MO and Sandy Elliott and husband, Rick of Fulton, MO; nine grandchildren: Charlyn, Brittany, Tess, Chelsea, Shea, Connor, Emily and Kennedy; four great-grandchildren: Landyn, Madi, Dillon, Mallory and Lauren and many nieces and nephews.

Bonnie Dillon is preceded in death by her parents: Louis Henry and Maudie Rhea French Koerber and one brother, Lawrence Koerber.
