Vivgenco "Jim" Lee Ambrose of St. James, MO passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 at his home.  He was 77 years of age.

Jim Ambrose, the son of the late Joseph Lee and Emma Elizabeth Dodd Ambrose, was born August 3, 1938 in Rosati, MO.

Jim is survived by his wife, Joyce (Gorman) Ambrose of the home; two daughters:  Mary Prope and husband, Mike of Elko, NV and Toni Mitchell and husband, Charlie of Rolla, MO; one son, David Charles Ambrose and wife, Rachel of St. James, MO;   eight grandchildren:  Sean, Josh, Aaron, Cameron, Zack, Baylee, Ganon, and Chayce; one great grandson, Logan; two sisters:  Frances Eldridge of Arizona and Irene Lawrence and husband, Bill of Union, MO and one brother, Joe Walls Isgreggs of St. Louis, MO.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Micky Burch and half brother Bill Walls; and three sisters:  Christine Adams, Mary Ann Talley, and Rose Hawkins.

Jim served in the United Sates Army; he received the Sharpshooter's Badge. He worked for GTE telephone company many years.  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed turkey hunting.

Jim Ambrose will lie in state from 6-8 p.m. on Monday May 2, 2016 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James. Rosary Service will held at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. James, MO.  Pallbearers will be Louis Gorman, Ruddy Gorman, Jim Walls, Zachary Ambrose, Aaron Wells and Cameron Mitchell.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ganon Ambrose, Mike Marches, and George Piazza. Interment with full military honors will be in the Immaculation Conception Catholic Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus.

All arrangements are under the direction of Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.
