Victor Manual Mestayer

Victor Mestayer of Licking, Mo. a resident of the Missouri Veteran's Home in St. James, Mo.  passed away on September 10, 2015 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri.  He was 84 years, 3 months and 25 days of age.

Victor Mestayer was born May 16, 1931 to his parents Victor and Candida Monterrey Mestayer in Managua, Nicaragua.

Victor Mestayer is survived by one daughter: Candida Mestayer-Culp of Illinois; sister: Zoila Caceres of Bellerose, New York  and nephew: Alfred Caceres of Bayville, New York and other family and friends.

Preceding Victor Mestayer in death is his mother and father: Victor and Candida Monterrey Mestayer.

Mr.Mestayer served his country in the U.S.Marines from 1952-1954 and was discharged with honors. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton, Paris Island, and Camp Legume.

 He was a member of American Legion and enjoyed reading, country and classical music, he enjoyed sports and played football in high school.

Visitation for Mr. Mestayer will be held at 11:30 am Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.

Graveside services with full Military Honors will be conducted at 1 PM on Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. with Father John Groner officiating.  Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.  Missouri Patriot Guard riders, Mark Williams Leader served as Pallbearers and provided escort from St. James to Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.
