Rilma Wilkinson Mash of St. James, Mo. passed away surrounded by her family, on May 31, 2017 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Mo. She was 87 years and 30 days of age.
Rilma Wilkinson Mash was born on May 1, 1930 to her parents: Earl Esco and Lena Webb Cottrell in Dillard, Mo. She was married for over 40 years to Johnnie “Tim” Lavern Wilkinson on January 22, 1949. From their union 6 children were born. Their children are: Ercil Wilkinson and wife Kathy of West Port, Ky; Jean Sanders and husband Thomas of Steelville, Mo.; Vicky Keys and husband: Roy of Mansfield, Mo.; Debra Wilkinson and companion Fred of Steelville, Mo.; Rena Stulce of Cuba, Mo.; and Etta White and husband Bennie of St. James, Mo.;
Rilma was united in marriage to Thomas E. Mash on November 9, 1992 in Steelville, Mo.
Rilma Mash is survived by her husband Thomas E. Mash of the home in St. James, Mo.Step children: Dwayne Mash of Jefferson City, Mo., and Billy Arnold and wife Marilyn of Cuba, Mo. She is further survived by one brother: Bill Cottrell of St. Clair, Mo. along with twenty one grandchildren and thirty eight great-grandchildren and four great great-children.
Preceding Rilma Mash in death are her parents: Earl Esco and Lena Webb Cottrell, her first husband Johnnie “Tim” Lavern Wilkinson who entered into rest January 23, 1992, six brothers: Vincil Cottrell, Ronald Cottrell, Roy Cottrell, Mitford Cottrell, and Burton Cottrell; four sisters: Helen Robinson, Lois Turnbough, Norma Hogan, Wilma Crabtree and son-in-law: Dale Stulce.
Rilma was an avid St. Louis Cardinals far and she enjoyed watching and listening to the Cardinals games on the TV and radio. She was always busy with her activities. She loved to quilt and made many beautiful family heirlooms. She enjoyed many hours putting together puzzles and working word search.
When she was not watching the St Louis Cardinals on TV, she like to watch games shows and even watched wrestling and finding new recipes on a cooking show. She liked to be indoors but she enjoyed the outdoors and especially planting and harvesting her garden produce. Rilma’s greatest love was her family. She loved to spend time with family and all her grand kids. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Burial of ashes will be in the Davisville Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Jones Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
