Richard Eugene Wagoner

April 15, 1949 ~ September 14, 2016 (age 67) 67 Years Old

Richard Eugene Wagoner of St. James, Mo. passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 14, 2016.  He was 67 years, 4 months, and 30 days of age.

Richard Wagoner, the son of the late Andrew Eugene and Mary Etta Zumwalt Wagoner, was born on April 15, 1949 in Waynesville, MO.  He was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Smith on October 19, 1968 at Vichy, MO.

Richard is survived by his wife, Barbara of the home; four daughters:  Jacqueline Dawn Arnold and husband, David of Eldon, MO; Lori Nicole Sarnowski and husband, Troy of Gasconade, MO; Alicia Rene Embrey of St. James, MO; and Kimberly Wagoner of Rolla, MO; one brother, George Edward Wagoner of Rolla, MO and one sister, Phyllis Kay Rosalies of Thornton, CO.  He is further survived by 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one son-in-law, Jesse Embrey III and one grandson, Micah.

Richard was a loving husband and father.  Richard loved life, and he loved people.   After greeting you with a warm smile and a twinkle in his eyes, he would launch into a story.  His stories were often about his family, his garden or happenings around the community.  He could keep one engaged in a story for quite some time.  He was a natural story teller, and friends and family loved to visit with him.  Children loved him; he loved playing Santa Claus at their local  elementary school.  He loved singing gospel songs and country western music; he recorded a cd for his family and friends. He spent many hours reading the Bible and listening to Christian tapes.  Richard was an avid gardener;  he and his wife spent many hours each summer in their garden.   A few years back, their daughter, Nicole and husband, Troy joined them in their produce business; they planted several acres of vegetables and sold them around the area.  He was employed as a state sales manager for Ampro Market, sales person for Tractor Supply for 10 years, and J&R Inventory for 8 years.  He was a member of the Apostolic Penecostal Church in Rolla, MO, and the Moose Lodge in Shreveport, LA.
