Louise Elsie (Schallenberg) Klippel

March 15, 1917 ~ August 4, 2016 (age 99) 99 Years Old

Louise Elsie Klippel was born on March 15, 1917 and passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at her home in St. James, Mo.  Louise Klippel was 99 years, 4 months and 20 days of age.

Louise was the daughter of Harry and Alvena (Norden) Schallenberg.  After World War 2 she was married on November 10, 1945 to Fred Klippel from McAlester, Oklahoma and they celebrated 60 years together in 2005.

Preceding her in death were here parents: Harry and Alvena Schallenberg, her husband Fred in 2006, three sisters and their husbands: Stella and Elmer Lange from St. James, Marie and Noah Smith from St. Louis and Lillian Pickering-Graczak from St. James; two brothers and their wives: Edwin and Elizabeth Schallenberg from St. Louis and Herman Sr. and Vetta Schallenberg from St. James. She is also preceded from Fred's family by eleven sister-in-laws, two brother-in-laws along with nieces and nephews.  

Survivors include John and Betty Klippel along with nieces and nephews.

Louise was proud to be a dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.  She was part of the Saint Johns Luthern Church and a member of the Ladies Aid. She enjopyed going to bowling tournaments around the United States with her husband Fred.  She started bowling in 1979 and retired in 2007 at the age of 90 years after receiving the Missouri State award for winning two single games in the Women Over 70 Division.  Louise also enjoyed sewing quilt tops for her family and her friends to enjoy.  She was very thankful for the people that loved her and she wanted to close her obituary with these words: "Till we meet again may the Lord bless and Keep you in his care."

Louise Klippel will lie in state from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 8, 2016  at 11 A.M.  at the St. John Lutheran Church in St. James, Mo. with  Pastor David Peter officiating.   Pallbearers will be: Herman Schallenberge Jr.; Dale Schallenberge,  Ron Baxter, Chris Muller, Shawn Steen and Clyde Hemrick.  Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery in St. James, Mo.              

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.
