Lawrence Richards of St. James, Mo. passed away at the Golden Living Center in St. James, Mo. on  October 26, 2015.  He was 88 years, 4 months and 26 days of age.

Lawrence Richards was born on May 31, 1927 in Berryman, Mo. to his parents: Purl and Ella Riggs Richards.  Lawrence Richards was united in marriage to Avenell Richards on January 23, 1988 in St. Clair, Mo.

Lawrence Richards worked for General Motors, Inc. in St. Louis, Mo. for over 30 years.  Lawrence was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Lawrence Richards is survived by his wife of the home: Avenell Richards of St. James, Mo.; two sons: Larry Lee Richards and wife Rhonda of Alabama and Ronnie Lynn Richards of Springfield, Mo.; three daughters: Barbara Ann Reel and husband Dwight of Springfield, Mo.; Donna Sue Limberg and husband Ron of Owensville, Mo.; and Sandy Presser of Alabama; one brother: Lloyd Richards and wife Roberta of St. James, Mo.; step-stepson: Carl Roark, Jr. and wife Norma of St. James, Mo.; four step-daughters: Pat Roemer and husband Frank of St. James, Mo.; Billy Day and husband Louie Day of St. Clair, Mo.; Pam Branstetter and husband Dick of St. James, Mo.; and Anita Plemmons and husband Don of St. James, Mo.  along with 17 grandchildren and 13 step grandchildren.

Lawrence Richards is preceded in death by:  his parents: Purl and Eleanor Starks Richards; grandson: Jesse Presser and one sister: Eleanor Starks who passed away at a young age.

Visitation for Lawrence Richards will be from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo. with Mick Thrasher officiating.  Pallbearers will be: John Richards, Nathan  Richards, Dick Branstetter, Louie Day, Dale Roark, Chris Garrett, and Tim Brown; Honorary Pallbearers: Frank Skyles, and Adam Reel.  Music will be provided by Don Chambers,  the vocalist and Marilyn Disser,  the organist.  Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery in St. James, Mo.
