Ercie Lee Turnbough

January 3, 1935 ~ September 4, 2017 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Ercie Lee Turnbough of St. James, Mo. passed at his home with his family by his side on September 4, 2017.

Ercie Turnbough was born on January 3, 1935 in Davisville, Mo. to his parents William and Pearl Martin Turnbough.  He was first united in marriage to Norma Turnbough.  In April 2, 1993, he was united in marraige to Donna Marie Steen in High Gate, Mo.  She survives at the family home.  

He was a factory worker for Ramsey Piston Rings for 37 years.  He loved to hunt and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed being in the woods and  hunting mushrooms. Ercie was a member of Full Gospel Church in Rolla. If you knew, Ercie you loved him because he loved everyone. He loved having his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-granchildren around him, and he often shared stories of his youth with them. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ercie Lee Turnbough is survived by his wife: Donna Turbough of St. James,  four sons: Randy Turnbough and wife, Sherry of Ozark, Mo., Rickey Turnbough of Leasburg, Mo., Timothy Turnbough and wife Sherry of Leasburg, Mo., and James Allen Chambers and wife, Corinne of Steelville, Mo.; four daughters: Connie Summers and husband, Jerry of St. James, Mo., Covenly Deardeuff and husband, Sherman of Ashland, Mo., Margie Tessaro and husband, Jeff of St. James, Mo. and Mindy Bassett and husband, Kent of Dixon, Mo.; and one brother, Delbert Turnbough and wife, Sharon and 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter along with many friends and other relatives.

Preceding Ercie Lee Turnbough in death are his parents: William and Pearl Martin Turnbough;  brothers: Cletis Turnbough, Earl Turnbough, and infant Curtis Turnbough and two sisters: Marie Geller and Gladys Parsons.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 6, 2017  at 1PM  at  the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo. with Brother Stan Collins officiating.  Vocalists, Donnie and Virginia Humpry, will sing "Oh, What a Day That Will Be."  Pallbearers will be Justin Turnbough, Jeremy Birkner,  Nick Turnbough, Aaron Birkner, Branson Summers, and Michael Summers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Jones and Jacob Jones.  Donnie and Virginia Humpry are the vocalist.   Burial will be in the Meramec Hills Cemetery near Cuba, Mo.

Memorials may be given to the Turnbough Family.
 

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.
