Charles Carey Wilkinson of Rolla, Mo. passed away at his home on January 28, 2016. He was 68 years, 10 months, and 7 days of age.
Charles Wilkinson was born on March 21, 1947 to his parents: Harvey Henry and Helen Lucille Rhoads Wilkinson.
Charles Wilkinson worked at S &T in the maintenance department in Rolla, Mo., for 37 years. Charles never owned a car or had a driver’s license but he never missed a way of work. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals. He was a friendly outgoing person who never met a stranger. If you drove by his home and he was outside he always waved. Charles was the hub of the neighborhood. He had hundreds of video tapes and had movie night at his house. The neighbors would go to his house and exchange a tape for one that had not seen. He loved his family and always attended family gatherings. Charles Wilkinson will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Charles Wilkinson is survived by one brother: Bill Wilkinson of Longmont, Colorado; four sisters: Betty Berger of Eldon, Mo.; Edna Frey of Swansea, Illinois; and Ruth Lockhart of Livingston, Illinois; Myrna Poss of Eldon, Mo.; along with many nieces and nephews.
Charles Wilkinson is preceded in death by his parents: Harvey Henry and Helen Lucille Rhoads Wilkinson 1914 - 1998; one brother: Edward Wilkinson; and two sisters: Norma Fritze and Mary Helen Wise.
Visitation for Charles Wilkinson will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 10-11 A.M. until time of the funeral .
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 11 A.M. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo. with Stephen Brubaker officiating. Pallbearers will be: Dan Poss, Shane Poss, Anthony Poss, Lowell Poss, Terry Gardner, Bill Wilkinson, and Mercedes Ervin. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday January 3, 2016, the Boone Creek Cemetery in Licking, Missouri.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.
